SUGGESTED WAYS TO PLAY

There’s no one “right” way to play—just the way that brings people together. Whether you’re reflecting solo, deepening a bond with one other person, or hosting a group, these formats are designed to spark real connection, curiosity, and joy. Feel free to mix, match, and create your own versions too!

1. Free Flow (2+ Players)

How it works: Place the cards face down in a pile. Each player takes turns drawing a card and reading it aloud. Everyone takes a moment to reflect, then responds to the question in their own way—through a short story, personal memory, or even a single word.
Why it works: Great for building trust and making space for every voice. No pressure—pass if you want.

2. Mirror Game (2 Players)

How it works: One person draws a card and reads it silently. Their partner answers the question as if they were that person. Then, the card-drawer reveals their real answer.
Why it works: This is a fun way to practice empathy, challenge assumptions, and deepen your understanding of each other.

3. Group Spark (Small Groups)

How it works: Break a larger group into small circles (3–6 people). Give each group a small stack of cards. Take turns drawing and answering, giving each person time to share while others listen with full attention.
Facilitator Tip: Ask one question per round and encourage deeper follow-up questions like “What made you say that?” or “How has that shaped you?”

4. Solo Dive (1 Player)

How it works: Choose a card at random and treat it as a reflection prompt. Write your answer in a journal, voice note it to yourself, or even draw it.
Why it works: A beautiful way to build self-awareness, process emotions, or explore what’s beneath the surface.

5. Fact or Fiction (2+ Players)

How it works: Deal each player 4–5 cards. On your turn, answer a card from your hand truthfully or not. The group guesses if your answer was fact or fiction. If they guess wrong, you keep the card. If they’re right, they keep it. Most cards at the end wins.
Why it works: Lighthearted and laughter-filled. Best with people who know each other—or think they do.

6. Circle of Curiosity (Virtual or In-Person)

How it works: One person reads a card aloud to the group. Everyone gives their answer. If a story sparks interest, gently ask follow-up questions.
Facilitator Tip: Pause after each response and say “thank you” to foster emotional safety. Perfect for Zoom or around a dinner table.

7. Creative Prompt (Solo or Group)

How it works: Choose any card and turn the question into a writing or art prompt. Create a poem, journal entry, or short story based on your response.
Optional: Share your creation with others and discuss the inspiration behind it.
Why it works: Perfect for classrooms, retreats, or creative meetups.

8. Sip & Sync (2+ Players)

How it works: Each player draws 3–5 cards and lays them face down. On your turn, flip one and answer. If someone else in the group gives the same answer or shares something similar, both of you take a sip of your drink (any beverage is fine!).
Why it works: Builds light connection and highlights surprising overlaps.
